Bombay Jayashri launches “Bhaire Baanvari – Story of Mirabai” her new music concert on 7th March 2010, for SANKALP TRUST in aid of children with Learning Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The musical presentation of saint-poet Mirabai’s life and poetry features an entire range of songs by Mirabai.
Set in poetic verses that reverberates her personal longing for Lord Krishna, her divine lover. Mirabai’s songs reflect the nava rasas – the nine emotions of life and art and are set in different ragas, raginis, and tempo variations.
This first show of series that will be showcased later across the country, will be held at the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Lady Andal Venkatasubba Rao School, Harrington Road, Chetpet, Chennai at 7.00 p.m on 7th March.
The proceeds of the program which is supported by many donors will be in aid of Sankalp, a registred Not For Profit Trust in Chennai that supports children with learning disabilities and autism.
Sankalp, established in 1999, caters to 220 children from age 3 to 18.
This being the 10th year of its inception an international seminar– ‘Learn 2010’ on “Inclusive practices for students with special needs” on 5th & 6th March 2010 is being organised at Chennai.
Dr. William L. Heward, Professor Emeritus at the Ohio State University and Dr. Jill C. Dardig, Professor Emerita at Ohio Dominican University will be the key speakers. Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Mr N.Ram will be the chief guest at a function on 5th March at 17.00 hours at Taj Connemara Hotel.Ball Room
The Music concert will be held on the subsequent day after, 7th March.
